Since the name itself is Khichdi… and its a Gujarati Food.. why not start with a Gujarati Dish ? … here is the Recip of Vaghareli Khichdi ….
Ingredients:
- Oil
- Salt
- Rice
- Onion
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Turmeric
- Tuar Daal
- Coriander
- Green Chili
- Cumin Seeds
- Chilled Tomato
- Spring Onion [ Optional ]
- Green Garlic [ Optional ]
Method:
- Wash Rice and Tuar Daal Together
- Add Salt & a Pinch of Turmeric and cook in pressure cooker.
- Make a Past Of Green Chili, Ginger & Garlic.
- Cut Onion long strips
- Cut finely Spring Onion, Green Garlic, Coriander & Tomato, keep aside
- Take a thick Pan, Put oil and heat it .
- When heated add Cumin Seeds, then Onion and then Ginger-Garlic-Chili paste.
- Stir and cook for one Minuit.
- Now add Cooked Rice and Daal into it and mix well.
- Cook for 3 To 4 Minuit’s.
- When its mixed well and done, garnish it with Coriander, Spring Onion/Green Garlic & Tomato
- Serve hot with cold Tomato over it.
