Sabzi Kurma


  • ½ Cup Water
  • Salt To Taste
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 2 Tbsp Ghee / Butter
  • 2 Dry Whole Red Chilies
  • 2 Onions & Tomatoes Chopped
  • 3 Cups Mixed Vegetables Chopped Roughly (Carrot, Potato , Green Beans, Green Peas)
  • 1 Capsicum Chopped

To be ground:

  • 5  Green Chilies
  • Ginger Chopped
  • 1 Onion Chopped
  • 1 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • 6  Tbsp Grated Coconut
  • ½  Tsp Turmeric Powder

To be powdered:

  • 5  Cloves
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • Green Cardamoms
  • 1 Tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Poppy Seeds


  1. First Place the vegetables in a pressure cooker and cook them till 2 whistles, once it is done, let it cool.
  2. Then make a powder : Roast all the ingredients in a pan, Then let it cool for 1 Min and then grind it in the grinder and make it a powder, once the powder is ready , remove it in a bowl.
  3. Now make the paste : add all the ingredients in the grind including a ½ bowl of water and grinder to make a paste, once the paste is ready , remove it in a bowl.
  4. Now take a pan and take Ghee/ Butter once its heated, add Bay Leaves and Red Whole Chilies, as soon it becomes aromatic
  5. Add Onion and let it cook till it changes colour.
  6. Now add ground powder and mix well, let it cook for 1 minuit
  7. Then add capsicum, let it cook for 1 minuit and add tomatoes & salt, let it cook till onion becomes soft,
  8. Now add boiled vegetables and ground paste, slat if required, water and mix well and let it cook till Capsicum is tender and water is almost evaporated.
  9. Now serve with hot roti.
